Roman Škulec
Doc. MUDr. Roman Škulec, PhD. is an internist, cardiologist and emergency physician. Doctor, university teacher and scientist with many years of experience. Currently, he is the head of the Department of Emergency Medicine and the clinical leader of acute medicine at Nemocnica Bory, a.s. in Bratislava. He works as a teacher at the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Charles University, at the Faculty of Health Studies at the J.E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem in the Czech Republic, and at the Department of Clinical Disciplines and Emergency Medicine of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Health Sciences at the University of Konstantin Filozof in Nitra. His main research focus is the issue of cardiac arrest, early post-resuscitation intensive care and the use of Point-of-Care ultrasonography in emergency and intensive care medicine. So far, he has published about 150 articles in professional journals and has given hundreds of invited lectures at domestic and foreign professional conferences. For his scientific and research results, he is the laureate of the State Prize Silver Memorial Medal of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
