Stanislav Šutovský
Professor Stanislav Šutovský, MD, PhD., is a leading expert in neurology, affiliated with the 1st Department of Neurology at Comenius University and University Hospital in Bratislava. He began building his expertise at the Institute of Neuroimmunology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, further enhancing his skills through research placements at the Department of Neurology, Manchester Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom, and at the Max Planck Institute for Structural Molecular Biology in Germany.
Dr. Šutovský is highly regarded in Alzheimer’s disease research, focusing on the development and validation of biomarkers for the early stages of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. As the author or co-author of more than 40 scientific articles, several book chapters, and a monograph, he has significantly contributed to knowledge in neurodegenerative diseases. His publications have been cited over 80 times in leading databases such as WOS and Scopus.
Since 2020, Dr. Šutovský has served as a section editor for the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, where he plays an active role in establishing and updating diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines for dementia. He has participated in more than ten clinical studies (phases I, II, and III) focused on Alzheimer’s and has led six successful clinical research projects. Alongside his scientific work, Dr. Šutovský also teaches medical students and mentors graduates, fostering a new generation of neurology experts in Slovakia.
