Svetlana Síthová
Mgr. Svetlana Síthová (1987) is a special pedagogue who has long been dedicated to children with special educational needs. She has extensive practical experience, which she gained in the center for children and families, in a special kindergarten and primary school, as well as in a practical school.
Svetlana Síthová also taught at the Faculty of Education of the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, where she specialized in special pedagogy and pedagogy of people with learning disabilities. She is the author and co-author of several professional studies in the field of special pedagogy and education of students with special needs. She is the winner of the Young Talent of Counseling category (2019). In 2020, she was a finalist in the Teacher of Slovakia award. In addition, in the past she worked at a secondary vocational school, as well as at a center of pedagogical-psychological counseling and prevention.
She worked at the State Pedagogical Institute in the position of head of the section of inclusive education, national minorities and development of the education system. She headed the Department of Inclusive Education at the Ministry of Education, science, research and sports of the Slovak Republic and is currently working on a comprehensive reform of the counseling system. She participated in the creation of the Recovery Plan and, after its approval, will oversee the implementation of the proposed measures.
She was approved by the Government of the Slovak Republic on 24 June 2021 as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic.
