9:00 - 9:45 The state of healthcare from the perspective of doctors
The biggest challenges facing the health sector are mainly lack of financial resources, staff shortages as well as staff retention. Doctors who could be most involved in real prevention are so overwhelmed by administrative work that they are forced to prioritize the quantity of examinations over the quality. What is the real state of the Slovak healthcare system from the point of view of doctors? Is there a chance that our healthcare system will experience a rebirth? Are doctors facing an apocalypse or a miracle?

Financially supported by EHP and Slovak Grants.

Bridging the gap for people with food restrictions is extremely important. In the European Union, 17 million Europeans suffer from food allergies, of whom 3.5 million are under the age of 25. In the last decade, the number of children with allergies under the age of five has doubled and emergency room visits due to anaphylactic shock have increased up to sevenfold. Food allergies not only plague people living with them, but also their families and all those involved in preparing menus and meals for people with dietary restrictions. The "Safe Food" project brings an innovative approach to nutrition and diet, simplifying the quality of life for patients with this condition by directly tailoring a meal plan made from allergen-free foods. Presentations on the outputs of the Safe Food project and a discussion on "What is the current status and challenges of the healthcare system for patients with food allergies, food intolerances and celiac disease?"

11:25 - 12:05 Women's health and prevention promotion

Up to 90% of family health decisions are made by women, so they are not only responsible for their own health, but are also involved in the health care and prevention of their children and partners. Often, they are more at risk of disease and its consequences than other family members. In the discussion on women's health, we will talk about the specific needs of women, but also about measures that can help to improve their prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast and cervical cancer.

12:05 - 12:45 Clinical trials as an important part of modern healthcare
Is clinical trials a cure for Slovak healthcare? It can represent a major improvement in patient health outcomes and can represent an economically attractive opportunity for healthcare providers. We need to create a workable system to effectively increase the number and volume of clinical trials in Slovakia. How can the Recovery Plan contribute to a better set-up of clinical trials? Do we have sufficient infrastructure and staff capacity? In particular, can we use this to improve the care of our patients but also to increase the quality of science and development in clinical disciplines?
