With its arrival, new cyber measures will apply for entities falling under NIS 1, but also for thousands of new entities in up to 18 industries. The directive has already been transposed into the draft of the new cyber law of the Slovak Republic. The final version of the law must be approved by October 17, 2024. The law will probably come into effect on January 1, 2025. In case of non-compliance with the directive, the same sanctioning mechanism as in the case of the GDPR will apply - i.e. administrative fines.
